Bus Windows

There is a nameless dynamic within the capsules that are public transportation. In Los Angeles, passengers seldom speak to each other or connect in any way beyond the shared space. Despite this, we continue to come together daily and share a bit of our stories on the same moving platforms.

Though we refuse to communicate in earnest, we may sneak glances at each other, overhear intimate conversations, and even get a whiff of one another’s tiredness and abandonment as the iconic LA palm trees pass us by on the other side of the windows.

Therein I’ve tried to capture those things we never speak of, that we don’t address despite its presence just outside the periphery of our awareness. These reflections hide a unseen bit of our story and that of Los Angeles
